What should I bring with me when I come for an appointment?

When you come for your appointment remember to bring the following:

  • Driver’s License or a valid ID
  • Insurance information
  • Referral Letter (if required)
  • Reports, X-rays, MRIs, CT scans etc. and any other relevant information, with imaging on a disc
  • List of medications (if any)
  • Tank top or cami for women presenting with shoulder problems, and shorts for men and women presenting with hip or knee problems.

How do I schedule an appointment?

I do not have a sports injury and I am not an athlete, can I still be treated at Dr. Rice's office?

Yes absolutely. Beacon Orthopaedics is open to everyone and has a number of specialists to treat injuries and conditions requiring specialists in sports medicine, joint replacement, spine surgery, orthopedic oncology, foot and ankle surgery, hand surgery, and more.

I do not have a physician, can I still set up an appointment with Dr. Rice?

Yes, Dr. Rice will be pleased to make an appointment with you. Please call us at nodisplay 513-985-8630., and Madison will schedule an appointment at a convenient day and time.

Do I need a physician referral to use the services?

A referral may not be required. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may need a referral from your primary care physician. As a part of Beacon, Dr. Rice accepts commercial insurance, most Medicare and Medicaid plans, and self-pay arrangements. Diagnostic and rehabilitation services may be accessed via direct referral from your primary care physician or Dr. Rice.

What types of insurance do you accept?

We accept a variety of insurance plans. However, we recommend you call the number on the back of your insurance card to find out if Dr. Rice is in network with your particular plan.

May I do my physical therapy/rehabilitation at the Dr. Rice's office?

Physical therapy is located at the Kenwood, Summit, and Hyde Park offices where Dr. Rice sees patients in office. The Mason office location does not offer physical therapy, but other PT locations are nearby. For out-of-town patients, we can work with physical therapists near your hometown to ensure our preferred protocols are implemented for your specific condition.

On what days does Dr. Rice perform surgery?

Dr. Rice performs elective outpatient surgery on Monday and Thursday.

How can I get to Dr. Rice's office?

Check the tab "Patient Info" for office locations and hours, and links to find the surgery centers and hospitals where Dr. Rice performs surgery. 

Where do I stay if coming from out of town?

What is the closest airport to the Dr. Rice's office?

With more 6 million passengers annually, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport services most major airlines. The airport is conveniently located about 25 minutes from the Hyde Park office, 45 minutes from the Mason office. For more information, visit cvgairport.com
